Custom Instruments

In designing and building a custom instrument, one question stands out above everything else: “what inspires you?”  The design, shape, materials and electronics of the modern guitar and bass guitar present an endless array of possibilities. My goal is simply to ascertain the needs of the player, then offer clear and concise guidance throughout the process to help him or her attain the instrument they desire. Whether it is the warm cushy bottom of a classic fender, or the unique thud and swell of a hollow body that you desire, we can make it happen.

My shop designs are built to perform to the highest standards of the professional musician, and produce a tonal pallette that could be described as very modern. Highly responsive, with strong attack characteristics and a very focused midrange, these guitars and basses are designed to cut and punch through any mix.

If it is a design that has a place in the working musicians’ arsenal, from boutique acoustic to solid graphite, chances are I have built it.  All of my instruments are handmade; no cnc or pre-fabricated parts will ever be utilized. I hand select the wood and tune the electronics. String spacing and neck profile are all variable to fit the needs and feel of the player.
