Best Rafting Adventures - Logo Best Rafting - Eugene, Oregon 1999 Adobe Illustrator The paddles forming the shape of a ship wheel gives this logo a sense of stability and direction.
Boulevard - Logo Design Weiss Media - Eugene, Oregon 2008 Illustration, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop This logo was made for a new bar in Eugene, Oregon located off a major route. I used the image of a street sign to reinforce the name and location of the restaurant. An older sign was preferred in order to give the restaurant a classy feel.

I expanded on the image, adding a doorway and other brick walls. I was hoping to suggest he was taking lost in a giant labyrinth.

All of the cover charge went to a local nonprofit that was active in ending the war in Iraq. The peace sign is made up of feet and arrows, indicating dancing instructions. The couple are from an old, odd record cover. I like how they happen to be looking at the logo.

It was important to keep the bee friendly. I'm sure bee's don't smile, but this one does. It also is flying with a candle and goggles. The clouds here are similar to the clouds I made for the bat guano box. I intended to use clouds on each of the fertilizers illustration, in hidesight, I'm glad they weren't overused. This was printed in full process color.

We used his character in the fertilizer guide, advertisements and on the web site to present information. If all worms were this cute, fishing may become unpopular. This job uses 5 spot colors.

The bag is almost 24" tall, yet the original illustration was about 8" tall. Due to time restraints on this project, I wasn't able to put more than a couple hours into the illustration. To save time, I used a few flowers and elements from the soil bag. My co-worker, Shannon Schott, drew the red bird. Under the time restraints and being limited to 4 spot colors, I feel this design came out very well.

Once hired, I found a printer that would produce our 4 spot color bag as process color for a minor increase in price. I then redesigned the package and added full color to the illustration.

Most housewares products have a maroon background, the cleaning products have cyan background colors. The sponge packaging is done in full, process color.
