A simple, modern layout. I've done many web sites for homeowners selling their property. Most of these site designs are done in less than three hours of my time ($150), there are even designs that have been done within a $50 budget. Give me two or three decent photos, and I can turn it around in an afternoon. |

I did a huge amount of graphic design work on this site. All of the banners, category images and buttons were done by me. I'm not extremely happy with the homepage layout, I could do a better job of it's information architecture. This assignment, however, involved only the re-skinning of the site. I like the conservative color scheme in this design. The male and female ducks meeting in the center was a nice touch. The colors were on the dark side, so to keep the site from becoming too dark I added the sunflowers. Amazing how cheerful a couple of sunflowers can make a site. Even though most of the element were products offered on the site, much of this layout was later scrapped for a cleaner look. |

I used some simple photography to complete this project. To get the background, I used a velvet, purple piece of fabric that I use to cover a monitor. After adding some custom dingbats and text treatment, this webpage was ready to code after 1 hour of design work. Eric Stern is involved with the musical act, Vagabond Orchestra located in Portland, Oregon. |

The safeteendriver site is set up for parents, registered teenagers receive a bumpersticker with a code and the safeteendriver website location. Drivers that witness poor driving habits by the teenager can contact the parents by visiting the site. The witness (now on the online form) retells the teen's driving performance and adds the code from the bumpersticker. The code now determines where the form will be sent without giving up the teen's identity or the parent's email address. This service is gaining popularity with high schools, driver's education and parents with teens in trouble with speeding tickets. It may seem like big brother to the teen, but safety is a virtue learned with age I suppose. |

This page was designed extra wide at the clients request. Like grids, I love using stripes but make sure not to overuse them. The outside border stripes are mimicked within the top photo and behind the links on the left. I also drew the map of the coast. This site design was soon scraped for a similar, yet less effective, layout. |
