Portland, Oregon Graphic Designer

Web Pages That I've Contributed To:

Libbey, Inc. - In 1997, I worked in Toledo, Ohio for one of the worlds largest tableware manufactures. I was flown to Atlanta Georgia to work with Microsoft in designing the launch of this complex web site. (While living in Ohio, I created the infamous email: terrytoledo)

Agent Lead - I worked in Corvallis, Oregon for GoHome in 1999 designing web pages to sell real estate.

Web Pages That I've Completed:

Safeteendriveronline.com -- Web page design and development completed in 2007. Client needed a business web front that would allow visitors to register and report the driving habits of teenagers. Bumper stickers provide an ID number that allows the site visitors to contact the teen's parents. I used a number of perl email scripts, forms and encrypted paypal buttons to complete the project.

Down To Earth Distributors - My first CSS project involving multiple opensource applications like Stoke's Phone Book, Matt's FormMail, Plan's online calendar and ramdom image javascript. I also designed and coded the web sites for Down to Earth's retail stores and it's organic fertilizer. I completed these projects between 2004 and 2007.

The Future Sound of Lego - My first stop animation using Flash. Lego people ravin' and dancing til the break of dawn. I love their smiles.

Brushfire - I designed the graphics and did the initial coding for this "pottery by you" retail store. I finished the site in 2003 and it has since been modified.

Obie Media's Art Department 2001 - I did this while working at Obie Media.

I use Opensource software to construct my webpages. I've installed and customized the following applications with my own html templates, text and graphics.

Content Management Systems (Blogs)

  • Drupal - Drupal is now XHTML valid and boasts a list of features too long to list. Some important features include an extensive web based control panel, searching, images galleries, contact forms, multi-users allow for Social Networking sites, forums, podcasting, file uploads, polls, comments, a news aggregator and site stats. (Example)
  • Wordpress - A W3C complient blogging site. Wordpress offers many of the same features as Drupal with minor differences.
  • Greymatter - a very simple Web-based tool for the creation of weblogs or online journals. (Example)
  • Plans Calendar - A browser controled calendar / time management system. The easy to read calendar displays events as links in flexible boxes. (Example)
  • Stouk Phone Book - A simple perl script that allows users to search, manage text and even display images in a basic online spreadsheet. This application can be manipulated to import and display large amounts of data from Excel Spreadsheets. (Example)

Music and Image Galleries

  • Zina - a streaming MP3 management system. Browse your music by album title and play songs randomly. (Example)
  • emAlbum - software that automates the management, organization and viewing of images. It features timed slideshows, image captions and endless images and sub-directories. (Example)
  • Random Image - a simple perl script that allows random images to appear on specific web pages. (Example)

Email Forms

  • Tectite - provides an application to accept from submissions and email the results to multiple addresses. It has anit-spam features, CAPTCHA (random code validation) and a long history with no exploited security vulnerabilities. (Example)

E-Commerce Systems

  • Magento - I plan on mastering this XHTML valid, flexible software package. Check back to see when I will offer this product with my web design services.
  • Zen Cart - A popular choice of e-commerce software, yet difficult to install and manage.
  • CP Commerce - I tested this application on my site without sastifaction.

Misc. Software

  • Poll It - A simple CGI program that allows browsers to contribute to an online poll. The software allows browsers to see a bar graph of the results once they contribute. It also stores users IP addresses so multiple entries are avoided. (Example)

I am able to provide animations and interactive navigation.

Flash and Director

  • Adobe Flash Player is the standard for delivering high-impact, rich Web content. Designs, animation, and application user interfaces are deployed immediately across all browsers and platforms, attracting and engaging users with a rich Web experience. (Director Example, Flash Example)
