Classic Clunker Online – Web Design

Classic Clunker – Los Angeles, CA – 2009
Wordpress, HTML, CSS, PHP, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

This site was designed to display information, photos and videos of automobiles that survived cash for clunkers. I had to develop the site’s information architecture with a number of navigation techniques in mind. The automobiles can be searched and listed by use, make, model and location. The classicclunker.com site also includes a ranking system where visitors can rank their favorite clunker. In addition to the site-wide ranking system, the home page features a poll to elect the clunker of the month. All polls, galleries and content is now managed by the site’s owner using the wordpress content management system. All photographs in the site’s graphics are provided by the client, all illustrations in the site are done my me. The site also has a feedback/comment system and a contact page so viewers can submit photos of additional clunkers. You can view the site here: http://www.classicclunker.com

UFOTV – YouTube Web Design

UFOTV – Venice Beach, CA – 2009
Graphic Design, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe ImageReady

On the skinning of UFOTV’s YouTube page, I kept the theme of ufotv.com. Although the heading contains the same slogans and logo light effects, the navigation tabs and body background was given a new look. The dark background makes viewing videos easier, and the grey tabs attract the viewer to the links but do not take priority from the logo. The UFOTV YouTube site can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/user/UFOTVstudios

Hearistic Partnering – Web Graphics

Gray’s Web Design – Yachats, Oregon – 2009
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe ImageReady

I was hired by a web agency to design the graphics for this communication company.  People interested in eastern philosophies and progressive values were the target market.  I was provided the heart-spiral logo and created the remaining elements on the site design using textures from royalty-free photography sites.  This site design took 2 hours.

UFOTV – Website Graphics

UFOTV – Venice Beach, CA – 2009
Graphic Design, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe ImageReady

As the UFOTV website grows and provides additional products, I am often called upon to create headings for the new sections. I ultimately end up creating these graphics with images from the DVDs, stock photography or original illustrations by myself.

PDX Bridge Festival – Web Design

Boomtown Productions – Portland, OR – 2009
Wordpress, HTML, CSS, PHP, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

PDX Bridge Festival is raising the bar for city sponsored events by closing a number of bridges to celebrate the 100th birthday of the Hawthorne Bridge. The website raises the bar for creative splash pages by asking the user to raise the bridge in order to navigate the website. I used an adobe javascript code to implement the animation of the Hawthorne Bridge. This site is a good example of simple, yet effective design. See the animation for yourself here: http://www.pdxbridgefestival.org.

Debra Beers – 2008
Wordpress, HTML, CSS, PHP, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

Debra Beers is a Portland, Oregon artist that has been showing her art since the 1980’s. Her site runs off Wordpress with the NextGen Gallery Plug In. The bulk of this project was actually prepping over 200 images to be used for the web. A large number of photographs needed to be cropped, touched up and the levels adjusted. Fortunately, I have experience in image prepping from working on product catalogs. This experience helped me keep the project within a reasonable time frame. Her website can be found here: http://www.debrabeers.com.

Shopping Cart on terrytoledo.com

Posted on Jan2 2009

terrytoledo shopping cart A new service is available for 2009, I am now able to install and customize an open source application called Prestashop. It comes with a PayPal gateway, great web stats and some sharp effects. The admin control panel is completely customizable, so if you want the information architecture rearranged you can spend 10 minutes on the site map. Same goes for the storefront, too. I’ve tried eCommerce, Zen Cart, Magento and a number of other free applications but this is the best by far. Thanks Prestashop!

Take a look at my paintings, too! I now have a way to sell my artwork over the web. So far, everything in my store comes with free shipping. Check back often as I offer digital prints of past work, cafepress tees, stickers and my first comic book.

Helping Hands

Helping Hands

This webpage represents a group of teenagers on the coast of Oregon who participate in activities that benefit their community. The kids designed their own logo, Gray’s Web Design wrote the code and content, and I designed the graphics for this webpage. The kids wanted a trendy look with red, blue and yellow graphics and I presented them this. They loved it.

Early Web Experience

emrgnsee
Emrgnsee - Since 2008, I've done a large amount of data entry on this site. Organizing the music, workshops, vendors and sponsors on the website accounted for 155 posts. Yoga, breakdancing and permaculture are a few of the workshops at this three-day, techno gathering. This site runs off of Wordpress and was coded by my friend, Ben Scott (Stopphysics.com) and graphics were done by http://thewkyd.com

down to earth
Down To Earth Distributors - My first CSS project involving multiple opensource applications like Stoke's Phone Book, Matt's FormMail, Plan's online calendar and ramdom image javascript. I also designed and coded the web sites for Down to Earth's retail stores and it's organic fertilizer. I completed these projects between 2004 and 2007.

agentlead
Agent Lead - I worked in Corvallis, Oregon for GoHome in 1999 designing web pages to sell real estate.

libbey
Libbey, Inc. - In 1997, I worked in Toledo, Ohio for one of the worlds largest tableware manufactures. I was flown to Atlanta Georgia to work with Microsoft in designing the launch of this complex web site. (While living in Ohio, I created the infamous email: terrytoledo)

Obie Media's Art Department 2001 - I did this while working at Obie Media.

Early Web Animation

The Future Sound of Lego - My first stop animation using Flash. Lego people ravin' and dancing til the break of dawn. I love their smiles.
