Shopping Cart on terrytoledo.com

terrytoledo shopping cart

A new service is available for 2009, I am now able to install and customize an open source application called Prestashop. It comes with a PayPal gateway, great web stats and some sharp effects. The admin control panel is completely customizable, so if you want the information architecture rearranged you can spend 10 minutes on the site map. Same goes for the storefront, too. I’ve tried eCommerce, Zen Cart, Magento and a number of other free applications but this is the best by far. Thanks Prestashop!

Take a look at my paintings, too! I now have a way to sell my artwork over the web. So far, everything in my store comes with free shipping. Check back often as I offer digital prints of past work, cafepress tees, stickers and my first comic book.

Helping Hands

This webpage represents a group of teenagers on the coast of Oregon who participate in activities that benefit their community. The kids designed their own logo, Gray’s Web Design wrote the code and content, and I designed the graphics for this webpage. The kids wanted a trendy look with red, blue and yellow graphics and I presented them this. They loved it.

Good Company Games

Good Company Games

I had previously illustrated and designed the cover of this company’s premier board game, Cornerstone. The website was designed around the elements used in the package design and runs off a content management system. The entire site was installed, designed and hand-coded by myself and is WC3 valid. Good Company Games is located here: www.goodcompanygames.com.

Presnell Lutherie

Toby had already been using a similar shape that was made of mother of pearl and then embedded on the headstock of his custom guitars. I redrew the shape and gave it color and texture to match the actual image on the guitar. The shape represents the letters “P” and “L”.

Presnell Lutherie

This is a very basic content management site. The entire site was installed, designed and hand-coded by myself and is WC3 valid. Presnell Lutherie is located here: www.presnelllutherie.com.

Columbiana!

David Shapiro

I just finished this web site for an author in Portland, Oregon. David’s book, Columbiana, needed a web presence and a means for readers to purchase the book. The site uses a content manager and a PayPal gateway. The site also uses a unique plug in that pulls David’s blog from his Tribe webpage and displays the links in the navigation. The book contained black and white colored images which were used to make the graphics of the site. Staying with the theme of the book, the entire site is done in black and white. Take a look at Columbiana!.

Mike Hill Watercolors - HTML/CSS Coding, Content Manager System Installation, Website Design and Logo Design

This is the first website that I completed that ran on Wordpress.  I had already used Drupal and was quite frustrated with the endless options.   Wordpress was the perfect system for Mike’s page.  The Wordpress theme is hand coded by myself in PHP, CSS and HTML.  It is located at http://www.mikehillwatercolors.com.

UFOTV.com

UFOTV - Website Redesign

I did a huge amount of graphic design work on this site.  All of the banners, category images and buttons were done by me.  I’m not extremly happy with the homepage layout, I could do a better job of it’s information architecture.  This assignment, however, involved only the re-skinning of the site.  I hope to address the crowded nature of the homepage soon.  It is located at http://www.ufotv.com.

Safeteendriveronline.com - HTML/CSS Coding, Website Design and Logo Design

Safeteendriveronline.com - Eugene, OR - 2008
HTML, CSS, PHP, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator

The safeteendriver site is set up for parents, registered teenagers receive a bumpersticker with a code and the safeteendriver website location. Drivers that witness poor driving habits by the teenager can contact the parents by visiting the site. The witness (now on the online form) retells the teen’s driving performance and adds the code from the bumpersticker. The code now determines where the form will be sent without giving up the teen’s identity or the parent’s email address. This service is gaining popularity with high schools, driver’s education and parents with teens in trouble with speeding tickets. It may seem like big brother to the teen, but safety is a virtue learned with age I suppose.

Web Design Posts

Web Experience:

Emrgnsee - I've done a large amount of data entry on this site for the 2008 festival. Yoga, breakdancing and permaculture are a few of the workshops at this three-day, techno gathering. This site runs off of Wordpress and was built by my friend, Ben Scott (Stopphysics.com)

Down To Earth Distributors - My first CSS project involving multiple opensource applications like Stoke's Phone Book, Matt's FormMail, Plan's online calendar and ramdom image javascript. I also designed and coded the web sites for Down to Earth's retail stores and it's organic fertilizer. I completed these projects between 2004 and 2007.

Agent Lead - I worked in Corvallis, Oregon for GoHome in 1999 designing web pages to sell real estate.

Libbey, Inc. - In 1997, I worked in Toledo, Ohio for one of the worlds largest tableware manufactures. I was flown to Atlanta Georgia to work with Microsoft in designing the launch of this complex web site. (While living in Ohio, I created the infamous email: terrytoledo)

Obie Media's Art Department 2001 - I did this while working at Obie Media.

Web Animation

The Future Sound of Lego - My first stop animation using Flash. Lego people ravin' and dancing til the break of dawn. I love their smiles.
