Although I love all the rewards that come with freelancing, I was pretty excited to hear that Ninkasi was looking for a graphic artist. I made it through the 1st phase of applicants and was asked to design a promotional poster for the brewery. The poster needed to have a mountain bike theme and information regarding the event. I illustrated everything on this poster with my Wacum tablet. I first drew the hops surrounding the Ninkasi logo, then the bike. I hand drew the typo map in the background as well. As you can imagine, I did not get the job, but I did come away with a nice portfolio piece showcasing my illustration skills.
